Abstract

1397965 Strut-type suspensions NADELLA and A PITNER 7 July 1972 [8 July 1971] 31912/72 Heading B7D [Also in Division F2] A stub-axle assembly comprises a thrust needle bearing having two annular races 16, 28, one 28 of which is in contact with and supported by an annular support surface 29 provided by the radial face of a recess 31 formed in an annular element 32, which surface 29 is in alignment with a middle region of the needles and has a radial dimension which is less than the length of the needles. A collar 30 is attached by a forming-over operation to the edge of the race 28 and defines a flange 30a which axially retains the bearing cage 27.
