Abstract

1396920 Switch casings DORMAN SMITH BRITMAC Ltd 26 Sept 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 46169/72 Heading H1N [Also in Division H2] An electrical outlet unit for mounting in a screeded concrete floor comprises an open topped box 11, Fig. 1, which is buried in the screed and has adjusting screws 34 for adjustably supporting a frame 24 with its upper edge flush with the surface of the screed 56, Fig. 5. The frame 24 carries a second frame 22 having adjustably threaded feet 37 whereby its vertical flange 20 is brought level with the top of the floor covering such as a carpet 58. A lid 38 attached to the second frame 22 through hinged arms 41 has flanges 40 at its ends whereby its upper surface is maintained level with the screeded surface and may have a piece of carpet 59 adhered thereto. Ducts 52 provide for cable outlets and a vertically slidable handle 46 accessible through a slot in the carpet piece 59 is provided for lifting the lid 38 to gain access to the box. Screws 27 inserted through the frame 22, 24 hold both frames down in the box 11.
