Abstract

1396422 Silver halide photography POLAROID CORP 18 May 1972 [19 May 1971] 23480/72 Addition to 1378644 Heading G2C A photographic product comprising photosensitive silver halide is exposed, developed with an α,#-enediol developing agent to form a silver image and interacting the silver image with a compound of a metal more noble than silver, using at least 1% of noble metal based on the weight of silver present as silver halide. The invention also relates to a photographic product containing the silver halide, developing agent and noble metal compound. Preferably the silver image is formed by the diffusion transfer process and the noble metal compound is one of those listed in Specification 1378644. The developing agent is preferably ascorbic acid, isoascorbic acid, hydroxytetronic acid, dihydroxy acetone, dimethyl reductone or triose reductone.
