Abstract

1394219 Pipe couplings TAC CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS Ltd 19 July 1972 [20 July 1971] 33963/71 Heading F2G A sealing ring 7, supported on a plain pipe end 8, is introduced into a plastics socket 3 and rolled along into a groove 5. The socket may be of unplasticized P.V.C. or polypropyplene or of a copolymer of these. The socket may be preformed and subsequently shrunk on to the pipe end 4, with the interpostion of a sealing ring 6, or it may be shaped while being shrunk on to the pipe end. It may alternatively or additionally be bonded to the pipe end 4 by means of adhesive (11, Fig. 2, not shown).
