Abstract

1393059 Two-part couplings HEGO ELECTRIC GmbH 18 Sept 1973 43787/73 Addition to 1295002 Heading H2E A plug for use with socket connectors of the main invention comprises a plurality of pin contacts 2 mounted in throughbores 16 of an insulating housing. As shown the pins are detachably mounted by a resilient sleeve 17 secured to the housing and have an internal shoulder 18 which engages a recess 19 on the pin. Alternatively the pins may be secured in the housing by a housing cover (not shown). The socket contacts (not shown) have a standard spring with sockets at the edge of the connector a half spacing from the edge so that two or more socket connectors mounted side by side can be mated with a single plug. A protective skirt 20 surrounds the pins and has projections 21 which engage complementary recesses (22) on the socket connector. The sides of the plug may be ribbed or recessed to provide finger grips.
