Abstract

1390619 Two part couplings LUCAS ELECTRICAL CO Ltd 25 July 1972 [6 Aug 1971] 37032/71 Heading H2E A connector for electrical wiring is formed from a sheet of resilient conductive material, e.g. phosphor bronze and consists of a flat portion 10, folded over to form fold 13, U- shaped portion 11, with projection 14 in the shape of a small tongue extending inwardly of passage 12 defined by portion 11, and includes a flange 11a and clamping portions 15 and 16 which, when crimped around a cable, see Fig. 4 (not shown) engage the sheath and core thereof respectively. Passage 12 receives a mating connector (not shown) such that portions 11 and 13 slightly deform to produce a tight fit on the mating connector, a small recess in which is engaged by tongue 14. The connector lies within a recess 17 in an insulating support, which also comprises grooves 18, 19 which constrain the movement of fold 13 and flange 11a respectively.
