Abstract

1389474 Trailers KOBER MANPAR AG 6 June 1972 [14 July 1971] 26394/72 Heading B7B [Also in Division F2] A trailer chassis, particularly for a caravan, includes longitudinals 2 supporting tubular housings 3 within which wheel axles are resiliently supported, the trailer wheels having overrun braking means arranged to apply an equal braking force to each of the wheels. The axles are rubber cushioned in the housings 3, which are detachably mounted by flanges 4 on the longitudinals, and support the wheel hubs 6 via an arm 5. The front ends of the longitudinals are turned in to allow connection to a draw bar. To ensure uniform braking a force distributer 12 is provided. The distributer includes a web 17 interconnecting top and bottom plates which pivotally mount lever 15, each lever between connected at its ends via Bowden cables 13 to the wheel brakes on one side of the trailer. A cable 18 connects the distributer to the overrun brake. To protect the brakes against overloading cable 18 passes through web 17 and is connected to a washer 20 urged forwardly by a pre-stressed compression spring 19, which spring does not start to yield until a predetermined pull applied to an individual wheel brake is exceeded.
