The legs may be extendible and may be releasably, pivotally or slidably fitted to the body. The body panels may comprise an expanded plastics material sandwiched between metal or metal and wood panel. The caravan body base may be provided with guide means for facilitating loading on to and unloading from the pick up vehicle.
