Abstract

1386020 Tachogenerators TELDIX GmbH 2 Aug 1972 [20 Aug 1971] 36170/72 Heading H2A A vehicle wheel tachogenerator is mounted inside the actual bearing for the wheel. In the arrangement shown, the bearing comprises two sets of balls 2b, 2c and two parts 2a, 2d respectively fixed to the non-rotating wheel axle 1 and the rotating wheel hub 3, and a sensing device 10, e.g. a coil or field-affected semi-conductor, gives an output each time a tooth 6 of a rotor member 7 fixed to part 2d lies adjacent two yoke members 9 on part 2a. In the arrangement of Fig. 2 (not shown), the wheel axle (16) rotates, the toothed member (20) is fixed to the inner rotating bearing part (15b), and the sensing system (19) is mounted on the outer non- rotating part (15a).
