Abstract
1385661 Apparatus for water sterilization KATADYN PRODUKTE AG 28 Feb 1973 [21 March 1972] 9815/73 Heading C1C Apparatus for water sterilization comprises partition walls forming a plurality of parallel channels each channel being provided with a plurality of U.V. low-pressure burners in series past which the water flows. As shown in Fig. 1, water is fed into distributor box 1 and then through the container 4 which may be open at the top and comprises a plurality of channels 5 having a number of U.V. burners 10 disposed therein. The treated water passes out via distributer box 7 and pipe 9. A solid floor may form the base of the container 4 and the channels are formed by partition walls 6 having in plan view an I-configuration having at its ends transverse flanges which may be clamped together forming a seal. The partition walls may be providedwith vertical strengthening ribs which promote water turbulence or provide fixing points for turbulence plates positioned vertically and perpendicular to the water flow, the plates being provided with apertures 28-31 and flanges 33-36 (Fig. 6).
