Abstract

1383876 Distributor tray HEINRICH KOPPERS GmbH 26 Sept 1973 [21 Oct 1972] 45186/73 Heading B1R A liquid distributor tray 1 for a gas/liquid contact tower 2 comprises gas passage necks 5 to allow the passage of gas upwardly through the tray 1 and two sets of nozzles 3 and 4 producing solid cone spray patterns distributed over the tray between the necks 5 so that each set produces a spray pattern which is substantially uniform over the projected area of the tray 1 therebeneath, the nozzles 4 being fed wtih liquid from overflow tubes 9 upstanding from the tray 1. The overflow tubes are vertically adjustible to vary the necessary level of liquid on the tray for the set of nozzles 4 to operate. The necks 5 are arranged in pairs with each pair sharing a common roof 6. The nozzles produce spray patterns of square horizontal square section.
