Abstract

1379612 Dyeing and finishing cellulose material CIBA-GEIGY AG 22 Dec 1971 [23 Dec 1970 4 Oct 1971] 28438/74 Divided out of 1379611 Heading D1B Cellulose material is dyed or printed and simultaneously finished by impregnating or printing the material with one or more aqueous liquors which contain (a) at least one dye of formula (W) m-1 -D-[A-X] n ' in which W is a sulphonic acid or carboxylic acid group, D' is a chromophorous radical of a formazan, azomethine, azo, anthraquinone, nitro or phthaloazamine dyestuff, A is a bridge member, X is a hydroxyalkyl radical or a cycloalkyl radical having at least one hydroxyl group, m and n' independently represent whole numbers 1 to 4, (b) a synthetic resin-forming intermediate product or an aminoplast which is soluble or at least dispersible in water, (c) an acid catalyst and (d) optionally further additives and steaming the impregnated or printed material and then subjecting the material to a treatment at elevated temperature and optionally washing it. Preferably 10 to 100 g/l of dye and 50 to 300 g/l of synthetic resin forming intermediate are used the heating being at 100 to 220‹C for 30 seconds to 30 minutes. The aminoplast may be an addition product of formaldehyde with a 1,3,5-aminotriazine, oxydiamino-triazine, dioxyaminotriazine, triazone, guanamine, urea or thiourea.
