Abstract

1381586 Attaching sliding clasp fasteners to garments &c TEXTRON INC 17 July 1973 [18 July 1972] 33929/73 Heading E2S A sliding clasp fastener installation comprises a pair of fabric sections 14, 16 defining an opening 12 to be closed by the fastener and having a portion 18, 20 folded back upon itself along the opening, a sliding clasp fastener 30 having a pair of carrier tapes 32, 34 aligned with the opening, and adhesive means 22, 24 on at least one of the fabric sections disposed on the area overlayed by the folded-back portion 18 or 20 and extending beyond that area, the adhesive means bonding the foldedback portion and one of the carrier tapes to the fabric section 14 or 16. As shown, the adhesive means are in the form of strips which may be liquid activated. Adhesive means may be located between the tapes and the facing surfaces of the folded-back portion.
