Abstract

1374268 Hay making C VAN DER LELY NV 24 Nov 1971 [25 Nov 1970] 54668/71 Heading A1F A finger wheel rake comprises at least two groups of wheels arranged to pivot in a vertical direction independently of each other. The main frame beam 2 pivotably supports at one end a beam 7 carrying two rake wheels and at its other end a beam 12 to which are pivoted two further beams 7 each carrying two rake wheels. A beam 31 connects the rake beam 2 to a coupling arrangement 40 for connection to a tractor linkage and is pivotally supported in a sleeve 34 for adjustment by means of pin 61. Further adjustment of the beam 31 with regard to the arrangement 40 for altering the angle of attack of the rake can be made by pin 52. A connecting rod 55 supports the beam 31 and thus the rake against a biasing spring 56 which allows the rake wheels to establish ground contact whilst providing for vertical movement of the rake about pivots 51, 52. In an embodiment the sleeve 34 is arranged to be horizontal and is supported from the coupling frame by a tension spring. The rake hubs and the time clamping plates are the same as described in Specification 1374269.
