Abstract
1374071 Consuming noxious gases HEINRICH KOPPERS GmbH 5 April 1973 [18 April 1972] 16455/73 Heading F4B Claus-process residual gases containing hydrogen sulphide and sulphur are burnt, together with ammonia-bearing vapours, in an ammonia-burning oven, in the presence of fuel gases and at a temperature between 1000-1150 C. The combustion temperature is maintained by regulating the supply of air and/or fuel gas, the air being adjusted to give an excess of oxygen. The heat generated may be used for raising steam for an ammonia stripper.
