Abstract

1371957 Automatic control of force AGROSTROJ PROSTEJOV NARODNI PODNIK 24 May 1972 [1 June 1971] 24523/72 Heading G3R [Also in Divisions Al and G1] A combine harvester (Fig.1) carries a threshing concave 1 below a threshing drum 2, supported by rods 3 and arms 4. The spacing between the concave and drum is adjustable by a threaded control rod 13, connected via plate 12, rod 11, yoke 10, torsion shaft 9 and links 8, 7 to one of the support arms 4. The travelling speed of the harvester is controlled in correspondence with the quantity of material flowing through the machine as measured by a strain gauge semi-conductor 14 mounted on a part subjected to the load on the concave 1. The load signal is compared with a desired value and the difference used to control a hydrostatic gear box determining the travelling speed of the harvester.
