1370585 Vehicle loading and unloading K FAUSER JNR 18 Jan 1973 [22 Jan 1972] 2744/73 Heading B8E A vehicle loading device for prefabricated buildings comprises an auxiliary frame 19 mounted on the vehicle frame 18 and provided with an overhanging beam 32 having lifting devices and running by means of wheels 26, 31 on guide rails 23, 24. Movement of the beam is effected by an hydraulic motor 29. Hydraulic cylinders 39-43, Fig. 2, have cables 46-49 connected to the ends 52-56 of the pistons 51 which cables pass over reversing rollers 58, 59, 68, 69 to end in lugs 64 attachable to securing devices 83, 84, 86, 87 on the floor 80 of the building on either side of the centre of gravity 82. Hydraulic cylinders 61, 71 allow the building to be slewed relative to the vehicle for correct positioning at the delivery site. For transportation the floor 80 rests on the rails 23, Fig. 1, and the devices 83, 84, 86, 87 provide adequate securing. To unload from this position the cylinders 38- 43 contract the pistons 51 to raise the building 76 from the rails 23 to allow the beam 32 to be moved rearwards by the motor 29 driving the wheels 26 until the building is clear of the vehicle and can be deposited by extension of the pistons 51 and if necessary after positioning by the cylinders 61, 71. The vehicle has supporting devices 21, 25 used during loading and unloading. The cylinders 39-43 could be replaced by cable drums.
