Abstract

136,824. Fokker, A. H. G. May 18, 1918, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Machine guns. - Relates to motor-driven machine guns, and consists in a trigger mechanism designed to be operated only when the breech is locked. In the form shown, the breech-block b is reciprocated by a crank a connected thereto by a rod (not shown). The block is looked in closed position by levers c, c<1>, pivoted to the casing, which are moved inwards behind the breech-block by the engagement of their tails with cam-grooves d on the crank a. The lever c carries a pin e engaging an oblique groove f in a slidable member g on which is rotatably mounted a part k carrying an adjustable screw h. As the lever c moves inwards to lock the breech, the member g is retracted, and the screw h presses against a trigger lever i mounted on the. breech-block and fires the shot. When the part k is swung out into the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 5, the screw h is out of alinement with the lever i and the gun cannot be fired.
