1366382 Coating apparatus XEROX CORP 15 Sept 1971 43006/71 Heading B2L [Also in Division G2] A device for coating a photoelectrophoretic imaging electrode 1 with imaging suspension is supplied with pulsed shots of the suspension to break up agglomerates. As shown, a valve 62 is periodically opened by a solenoid SOL-1 to allow a pressurised air source 58 to force suspension 56 from a tank 54 through a manifold 72, valves 73-76 and conduits 77a-80a to the coating device.: The coating device may comprise an inlet 40, coating rod 36, doctor blade 44, scraper 46 and vacuum outlet 52 and is preferably movable away from the electrode 1 on rails (2, Fig. 1, not shown). Fig. 4 (not shown) shows a coating device having a coating aperture (83) and a smoothing rod (89).
