Abstract

1364243 Closing containers; container closures UNITED GLASS Ltd 5 Oct 1971 [5 Oct 1970] 47217/70 Headings B8T and B8C A closure, provided with a sloping part 18, is engaged with the neck of a container 2 by means of a closure annular bead 16 and a container neck bead 10, there being an aluminium liner 20 coated on its surface adjacent the container with thermoplastic material interposed between the closure and the container neck, the liner being sealed to the container after cap application by subjecting the liner to induction heating. The surface 6 of the container 2 and the sloping part 18 have the same sloping angle. The surface 6 may be replaced by a downwardly curved side sealing surface.
