Abstract
136,273. Lopdell, C. I. Dec. 18, 1918. Clips, band.-In a band clip for hose-pipes &c. of the type in which the ends of the band overlap and are forced apart by a tangential screw, the end 4 of the band that is acted on by the screw is adjustably secured to a sliding plate 6 which is guided in a slot formed in the lug 7 of the baseplate 3 carrying the screw 8, as shown in Fig. 1, or by tongues 16, Fig. 6, bent over from the sides 15 of a box-like casing enclosing the screw. Various methods are described for attaching the end 4 to the plate 6. The end may be enlarged as by a piece of wire and held in an opening 17 in the plate 6 by means of a flap 9, Fig. 1, or by a washer on the end of the screw. In another form, Fig. 9, the end of the band passes along the whole length of the plate 6 and is connected to its free end. The other end 2 of the band is adjustably secured to the base-plate 3, as by being passed through slots as shown in Fig. 1.
