1362415 Treating textiles; fluid jets for feeding yarns M T C VINAS 21 Sept 1971 [21 Sept 1970] 43929/71 Headings D1F and D1L In an apparatus for the treatment of textiles, particularly in rope or thread form, the material passes through two opposed Venturi injectors 1 and 2, fluid being injected into one or both of the injectors (when into both, in unequal amounts), the resultant suction conveying the material through the device. The embodiment shown in Fig. 3 is part of a continuous treatment apparatus, liquid from a tank 36 being pumped by pumps 37 and 40 through valves 39 and 42 (which adjust the relative quantities fed to each injector) to the device, from which it returns via a collecting chamber 44 around a perforated region 43 of the pipe to the tank 36. Fig. 4 (not shown) illustrates a modification of the apparatus of Fig. 3 for use where the fluid jets are gases or vapours and Fig. 5 (not shown) illustrates an arrangement in which a textile material, e.g. yarn, is contacted successively with liquid bleach, a vapour, a washing liquid and a drying atmosphere. Fig. 1 shows an embodiment in which an endless piece of material is conveyed around a bath 8 by the injectors, a heat exchanger 19 controlling temperature and a pump 17 circulating the liquid, which may be a dye. Embodiments are described in which the liquid is under pressure or in which the treatment fluid is a gas.
