Abstract

1359937 Lamp failure alarms WIPAC DEVELOPMENT Ltd 6 April 1973 [7 April 1972] 16248/72 Heading G4N A failure warning system for vehicle lights comprises relay coils 32, 41 connecting a supply source 11 to separate lamps 20-30, the associated relay contacts 35, 36; 44, 45 being closed when the coils are not energized and connecting a relay coil terminal to a R.F. transmitter 38, 47 and a R.F. receiver responsive to the received signal for actuating a warning device 52, 53. In operation, lights 20-25 are activated by closure of lights switch 13 and brake lights 29, 30 are activated by closure of brake light switch 26. When any of the lamp fails or there is a fault in the associated circuit, the associated relay contact closes to energize an R.F. transmitter 38 or 47. In response to the received signals, a switch 54 is closed in the receiver 51 for activating an audible alarm 52 and a visible alarm 53. The relays may be formed by reed switches.
