1359654 Fog dispersal D F WINTER 18 June 1971 [26 June 1970] 31024/70 Heading A1X Fog is dispersed or prevented, e.g. in the cold air at the bottom of a temperature invasion zone, by creating a rising spiralling column of air simulating the gesstrophic effect, e.g. using at least three gas turbine jet engines arranged nose to tail and having their exhausts saturated with water vapour by injecting water from nozzles peripherally spaced around the exit nozzles of the turbine. Condensation nuclei such as silver iodide may also be introduced. The engines are mounted in hydraulically tiltable cradles.
