Abstract

1290363 Gas scrubber LODGE COTTRELL Ltd 12 Aug 1970 [22 Aug 1969] 42085/69 Heading B1R Gas from a venturi-scrubber 10 passes via a tangential inlet 22 into the lower part 16 of a chamber 14 to separate liquid droplets, the gas passing upwardly through a tube 24 into the upper part of the chamber and being cooled therein by water sprays, a member 30 preventing any sprayed water entering the lower part 16 and mixing with liquid separated therein. As shown three sets of spray nozzles are used, nozzles 38 being positioned above beds of packing material 34. Water collects in the upper part of the chamber in an annular reservoir and water may be recycled to the sprays or passed to the venturi-scrubber.
