Hasp fastenings.-In a hasp fastening for attachÚ cases, portmanteaux, &c., the slot 2 for the knob 3 of the sliding latch 7 has a lateral notch 9 into which the knob shank is passed to secure the latch when shot. The notch 9 may have a forward extension for greater security. In the Provisional Specification it is stated that, instead of using the knob shank, a pin on the bolt may be provided to engage with an L-shaped slot in the casing.
