Abstract
1355380 Generating combustion products under pressure VENOT-PIC SA 23 Nov 1971 [19 Feb 1971] 54374/71 Heading F1L A combustion chamber comprises at least two successive compartments 1, 11 each provided with at least two diametrically opposite tangential inlets 2, 3 and 4, 5 through which is supplied pressurized inert cooling gas e.g. in the form of recycled oxygen free combustion products. Compartment 1 is provided with a burner 6 fed with gaseous fuel, e.g. coke oven gas,and compressed combustion air in stoichiometric proportions. After mixing with the swirling cooling gas the combustion gases pass into the larger compartment 11 for further cooling and thence leave through outlet 16. The ducts 12 to 14 feeding tangential inlets 2 to 5 are lined with refractory material. Additional tangential inlets in different planes may be provided.
