Abstract

1354028 Power operated screwdrivers P LEONI and I CATTINI [trading as NUOVA LAPI] 25 May 1971 [25 May 1970] 17048/71 Heading B3N A power operated screwdriver comprises a rotor 22 having integral therewith a flywheel 36 having a cavity in which is positioned a longitudinally movable mass 33 to impart an impact to a screwing bit 4. The mass 33 is connected to a tubular member 37, the end part of which forms a piston in a cylinder 40. Movement of member 37 is controlled by air entering the cylinder on one or the other side of the piston. Various conduits in the cylinder link up with the compressed air supply or the exterior to allow this. The direction of rotation of rotor 22 is controlled by a diaphragm 11 which is movable to allow air to enter an appropriate conduit system.
