Abstract

1344124 Stacking apparatus; conveyers SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GESELLSCHAFT 3 Aug 1971 [3 Aug 1970] 36358/71 Headings B8C and B8A A device for stacking biscuits or the like comprises parallel input channels 1 on which previously counted groups of biscuits 8 are formed into stacks 17 by the combined action of vertically reciprocating saw-tooth side supports 14 and pushers 6 on endless chain 10, the stacks 17 being transferred to saw-tooth side supports 19 extending transversely to channels 1 on endless chains 22 and each including a sliding pusher 25 following cam rails 29, 30 to combine stacks 17 into a single stack 32 for discharge into shoot 36. Alternatively, a single transverse stacking unit is provided in which the stacks 17 are received on transversely moving saw-teeth to form the single stack. To assist stacking, each saw-tooth member may swivel relative to the chain conveyer on which they are mounted.
