Abstract

1,196,687. Stacking sheets. DBUCKMASCHINENWERK PLANETA VEB. 7 March, 1968, No. 11177/68. Heading B8R. An auxiliary stacking device in which a table member is inserted between a completed stack of sheets and further sheets being delivered without halting the stacking operation comprises a plurality of support rollers articulated together to form a table and driven in and out of the region of the stack by means of sprocket wheels engaging roller chains carried on the ends of the support rollers. Fig. 1 is a sideelevation of a device in which sheets 1 are conveyed by grippers 2 and deposited on stack 3; when the stack reaches a pre-determined maximum height, articulated support rollers 4 are driven in the direction of arrow c to advance the auxiliary table in the direction b. The drive is provided by a motor 16 which through V-belt 17 drives sprocket wheels 14 mounted on either side of the table. The wheels 14 engage chain tracks (13), Fig. 2 (not shown), supported on links 12 connecting the rollers 4; each chain track forms part of a double roller chain, the second track being supported by fixed curved guide rails (10, 11).
