Abstract
1336313 Moving coil meter CANON KK and CANON DENSHI KK 13 Nov 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 54196/70 Heading G1Q In a moving coil meter in which the coil rotates in a gap between an inner magnet 21 and an outer annular yoke 23, the surface of the magnet is elliptical over the range of deflection of the coil, so that the meter response is linear. When the magnet is seen in cross section, the elliptical portions of its surface satisfy a polar coordinate equation of the following form: where (r m , α) = coordinates of the magnet periphery at an extremity of the range of deflection of the coil; the polar coordinate origin being at the centre of the magnet and # = 0 being the direction of magnetization. The magnet is of sintered barium ferrite.
