Abstract

1333841 Overload release clutches F W PURDY Ltd 29 Oct 1970 51337/70 Heading F2C In a torque wrench the member 40 is rotated by a spanner and causes rotation of a block 18 through a ring 25 with which it engages by a key-way 26. Above a pre-determined torque the ring 25 is urged downwards against a spring 27, the teeth 30 riding up ramps 42, and thus disengaging the output member 18. Coarse adjustment of the torque threshold value is obtained by replacing the spring 27 and a fine adjustment by rotating the threaded flange 19 which is locked in position by a screw 24.
