Abstract

1332134 Liquid dispenser G RESTALL 13 Oct 1971 [23 Oct 1970] 50361/70 Heading AIM A liquid dispensing device for animals, intended primarily for use with small heads of water pressure i.e. up to about 15 ft., comprises a housing 10, for screwing at 11 into a liquid supply pipe, containing a resilient member 12 of elastomeric material. One end of the member 12 is blocked by a spigot 15 and an outlet aperture slit 16 is provided. Movement of element 14, attached to the spigot 15, downwards against the pressure of extension 18 opens the slit 16 and releases water down chute 17; the extension 18 urging the slit closed when element 14 is released. A filter 19 is provided in the input end. As opposed to employing operating element 14 the downstream end of the member 12 may itself be arranged to be touched by the animal. A close coiled spring may be used as the resilient member, water being released from between the coils when it is bent.
