Abstract
920,302. Spray-producers. V. C. HANSEN, [trading as VOLMATIC]. Feb. 20, 1961 [March 2, 1960], No. 6184/61. Class 69 (3). The supply of liquid by a pipe 1 to liquid dispensing plant is automatically controlled by means of a container 3 supplied with liquid from an outlet 6 of the pipe, so that when the liquid in the container reaches a predetermined level 5 a regulator 2 in the pipe is automatically closed. Several outlets 6 are provided, from which lead different lengths of flow-resistant hose 7, and one or more outlets may be opened to thus vary the time taken for the liquid to reach the " shut-off " level and thereby control the dispensing period. Similarly, cocks 8 with flow-resistant hoses 9 lead into a tube 10 feeding back to the pipe 1 via a non-return valve 11. One or more of the cocks are opened so that when the regulator 2 is closed the valve 11 opens and allows liquid to drain away from the container 3. When the level in the container reaches a position 4 the regulator is again automatically opened, the valve 11 closed by liquid supply pressure and a fixed quantity of liquid dispensed. The dispensing and non-dispensing periods are adjusted by opening various ones of the cocks 6 and 8. In Fig. 2, the liquid supply pipe 13 has a valve 14 controlled by a float 16 adjustable along a lever 16. The container 20 is fed from a cock 18 and a flow-resistant hose, and at a liquid level 22 the valve is closed, and at a level 21 is opened. Flow from the container is via a flow-resistant hose 23. The dispensing period is adjustable by moving the float along the lever, and the " shut-off " period is adjusted by vertically adjusting the outlet of the hose along a scale 24.
