Abstract

1331234 Glazed partitions; doors CURTIS STEEL Ltd 28 Oct 1970 [12 Nov 1969] 55357/ 69 Headings E1J and E1W A glazed and panelled partition or door includes box or channel sectioned frame members, preferably of sheet metal, at least one of said members being connected at one end to another member by, e.g. plate and screw fastening means engaging inturned flanges 24, 25 at the end of side member, the members being provided with glazing ribs or shoulders, e.g. 15. In the partition shown the uprights 10, 11 are of channel section, with tabs 18 for locating glazing beads 19 and L-sectioned edge flanges 40, 41 to locate cover plates 46. Adjacent uprights 10, 11 are held in spaced relationship by I-shaped metal keys 45 located by dimples 50 and with apertures 47 for e.g. electric cables. The partition includes upper glazing 16 and lower sheet metal panels (30, 31), Fig. 6 (not shown) located on a lower, channel-sectioned cross member (33). The transom 13 in the embodiment shown is formed. from two channel-sectioned portions 20, 21. The frame members are preferably plasticscoated.
