Abstract
1329738 Valves R POINTOUT J ROUVET and A JOLIOT 28 Dec 1970 61415/70 Heading F2V A main closure 12a connects an inlet port 2a with a distributing port 14a when a solenoid 5a is energized and through a passage 23a causes an exhaust closure 16a to be urged against its seat 15a, the passage 23a having a leakage passage 27 to atmosphere to permit the exhaust closure to open when the solenoid is not energized. A magnetically-actuated plunger 29 isolates the passage 27 from atmosphere while the valve 16a is closed. In a simplified construction, a permanently open leakage passage is provided through a screwed cap 21a and the passage 27 is omitted. The exhaust closure may consist of a diaphragm centrally reinforced by a metal disc and secured in the housing by a peripheral bead or of a spring-loaded piston valve. The leakage passage is designed to delay closing of the exhaust valve.
