Abstract

1326904 Seats STABILUS INDUSTRIE-UND HANDELSGESELLSCHAFT mbH 22 Oct 1970 [5 Nov 1969] 50329/70 Heading A4J A seat surface 1, pivoted at 5 to a U-section underpart 2 and inclinable by downward movement of the forward end against the action of a gas spring 7, is secured in adjusted position by mechanical clamp means or a shut off valve which retains the piston rod 37 at an adjusted position of emergence from the cylinder 35 which contains a compressible medium under pressure. The spring is mounted on the underpart 2 by a bolt 8 and extends horizontally in a fore-and-aft position beneath the seat surface. The piston rod is connected to the seat surface by a bent lever arm 9, pivoted to the underpart at 10, and a plate 11. In modifications the lever arm or the piston carries a roller which moves on an oblique surface secured to the seat surface. The underpart 2 is secured to a frame 3 which may be vertically adjustable or rotatable and the cylinder may be rigidly secured to the underpart by an abutment (33).
