Abstract

1325815 Water-jet propulsion TWIN DISC Inc 27 Sept 1971 [12 Oct 1970] 23302/72 Divided out of 1325814 Heading B7V A water-jet propulsion unit has an intake 1, pumps 8, 9 and a discharge nozzle N through which water is discharged to drive a watercraft. Reversing mechanism R.M. connected at the discharge end of the nozzle comprises a pair of U-shaped channel parts 60, 61 which have their inlet ends adjacent the discharge end of the nozzle and are slidably mounted in tracks 63, 64 for movement in lateral and opposite directions. Good reversing and slowing-down action is produced.
