Abstract

1322452 Automatic circuit breakers ELECTRICAL PROTECTION CO (PTY) Ltd 7 Sept 1971 [11 Sept 1970] 41713/71 Heading H1N A circuit-breaker operating mechanism 1 has an underset toggle of a toggle-link 13, pivoted at 4, and a latch-frame 14, pivoted at 5, the members 13, 14, being articulated at 12 and the toggle being held set in the contactsclosed position by a pin 18 on a latch-plate 17 which, in turn, is engaged by a catch 15 rotatable by movement of a lever 16 by trip means, (not shown), to cause collapse of the toggle and opening of the breaker contacts 9, 10, Figs. 1, 9. (not shown). A pivoted lever provides the operating member for the circuit-breaker. A spring 25 biases the latch plate 17 in the opposite direction to that indicated by arrow 23, in Fig. 2, and spring 26 biases catch 15 in the opposite direction to that indicated by arrow 22.
