Abstract

1320585 Printing apparatus RICOH KK 25 Aug 1970 [15 Sept 1969] 40745/70 Heading B6C In a rotary litho offset machine a handle 4 carrying a switch 18 for manually operating the various stages of the printing cycle is normally in non-operating neutral position " N ", Fig. 1. In position " A " a printing plate " O " is automatically fed by a device 39 from a stack of plates 89 on to the printing cylinder 1. Subsequently the plate is damped with solution from a bath 123, Fig. 19, by a series of interconnected rollers 133, 145, 141. By moving the handle 4 to position " B " the inking system shown in Fig. 23 is applied to the plate and an image is produced on the blanket cylinder 2. When the handle 4 is placed in position C a sheet copy feeding device is actuated and the machine becomes productive. The copy heets 30 resting on the feed tray 29 are successively fed between the blanket cylinder 2 and the impression cylinder 3 and the printed products are discharged on to a tray 31. The number of sheets to be printed is controlled by a counter 32. When the handle 4 is moved to position D the printing plate is stripped from the printing cylinder and the blanket cylinder is washed in situ by the mechanism shown in Fig. 24.
