Abstract

1296471 Printing apparatus BOHN BENTON Inc 27 May 1970 [31 Oct 1969] 25452/70 Heading B6C [Also in Division B8] A printing machine, which may be a twocylinder screen printer, with a screen in the form of an endless band, comprises a sheet feed tray 34 which incorporates mirror-image sheet retaining members 66, 68 at the corners of a pile S of sheets on the tray. The members 66, 68, are mounted movably on wall 64, and left and right side guides 56, 58, are movably mounted on platform 50. The members and guides are adjustable in unison, or the members may be moved while the guides remain fixed. The screen printing machine is fed with ink through a tube 300, to which it is pumped from a cartridge, and the screen-supporting cylinders 280, 296, and longitudinally oscillated rollers 296, 298 distribute the ink over their surfaces and force it through the screen. Impression cylinder 266 is mounted on a bell crank, and is tripped by a cam in one direction and a spring in the other. A counter turns the machine off after a preset number of copies has been printed. If no sheet is fed, its absence is detected by a feeler 268a and impression cylinder 266 is tripped to prevent it being fouled.
