Abstract

1317608 Panelled structures ARCHITECTURAL PARTITIONS 16 July 1970 34458/70 Heading E1W A partition wall is formed by engaging galvanised steel channel section vertical studs 10 in channel members 11, 12 connected to the ceiling and floor. The studs are formed with opposed arms each with two longitudinal grooves 21 in which are formed tapered slots 22 in pairs spaced successively longitudinally of the studs. Panels 13 of plaster board, gypsum board or asbestos have elongate or discrete spaced plates 26 fastened to their reverse side adjacent their margin. These plates are provided with a punched out hook 27. The panels when hung by their hooks 27 in the slots 22 are cammed inwardly into engagement with the stud face by the cam edge 29 on the hook and laterally so that they are in a position closely adjacent or abutting each other by the cam edges 23, 24 of the tapered slots. Similar panels may be arranged on the other arm of the stud to provide a double skinned wall.
