Abstract

1375047 Panel clips; structural elements; releasable fastenings C R ALLEN 27 Oct 1971 [5 Nov 1970] 49934/71 Headings E1K E1W and E2B A partition wall or ceiling panel 110, Fig. 7, has a flat strip 112 secured to one face, the strip having means for retaining the base 124 of a plurality of clips 118, 120 each having opposed, resilient arms 126, 128 for retentively engaging one of at least two beads 134-140 of a stud 122 to thereby releasably secure the panel to the stud. Flanges on the clip's base 124 are preferably received in the narrow part of a key-hole slot 114 in the strip 112. The clip may be received with its axis either parallel to or at right angles to that of the strip (i.e. so as to grip either vertical or horizontal studs). Alternatively, Fig. 5, lugs 100, 102 may be bent over to engage the clip's base, or the clip may have a hook engaged in a slot in the strip. The stud, e.g. of extruded aluminium, may be shaped as shown in Fig. 7 or have a square tubular or H-section, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown). The conduit 144 receives electric wiring. The beads 34 &c and strips 112 are so arranged as to cause adjacent edges of panels to abut each other. A double wall may be formed, Fig. 4 (not shown).
