Abstract

1314487 Spraying regulator ALTEX GES FUR ALLGEMEINE LANDTECHNIK mbH 23 Aug 1971 [12 Sept 1970] 39420/71 Heading A1D [Also in Divisions G1 and G4] A fluid regulator for regulating the flow of a fluid depending on the respective valves of two parameters and particularly applicable to agricultural spraying devices where the two parameters are tractor speed and "discharge capacity" i.e. the volume of fluid discharged per unit area of land, comprises an inlet 2 and an outlet 4, a regulating valve control 8 by which fluid pressure in the outlet is adjustable and a manometer 6 or flow meter connected to the outlet. A cock 7 and a bypass connection 3 may also be provided. The manometer has an indicating means, needle 10, which cooperates with a dial 9 or superimposed dials bearing a set of lines e.g. lines 11 representing constant values of tractor speed and a set of lines e.g. lines 12 representing constant values of desired "discharge capacity" which lines intersect. In the particular use, the tractor driver drives at a certain speed depending on ground condition and where the desired discharge capacity line intersects the line corresponding to that speed the needle 10 is positioned by moving valve control 8 and fluid is sprayed onto the land in the desired quantity. The construction of the dial(s) is also described (see Division G1).
