Abstract

131,425. Williams, O. R. Aug. 16, 1918. Soles.-The usual leather sole of a boot or shoe is replaced by one comprising a layer c of canvas and a thin layer d of rubber, this sole being carried through .the waist h to the back h<1> of the boot and being provided with projections a, b at the toe and ball extending the full width of the sole. The sole may be provided with additional cross-bars e, and may be fitted with a pad h<2> of rubber to cushion the leather heel; it may also be provided with a thin backing of rubber optionally recessed to provide air spaces.
