Abstract

1313176 Stay ARMSTRONG PATENTS CO Ltd 27 May 1971 [28 May 1970] 25611/70 Heading E2F A stay, as shown, comprises a hinge assembly consisting of two hinge arms 10, 12 secured by hinge pin 14, the arm 10 being engagable with the spindle 16 of a door closer 17 and the arm 12 being pivotally attached to a door frame 20. A stay arm 22 is pivoted to the arm 10 adjacent the hinge pin 14, and at its opposite end has an upstanding pin (24) with an enlarged head 26 for engagement in a slot 28 in the arm 12. A cover 32 having a slot 34 is secured to the arm 12 and spaced from the surface of the arm 12. When the door is moved to or just beyond the fully open position, the pin 24 can be manually displaced upwards to position the head 26 in the slot 34, which acts as a stop to prevent the closing of the door.
