Abstract

1310623 Screen printing MITTER & CO 22 Dec 1970 [22 Dec 1969 29 July 1970] 60895/70 Heading B6C A squeegee comprises an air inflatable hose 11, Fig. 2, supported in an inverted U-shaped holder 10 and covered by a resilient U-shaped cover 23 embodying a squeegee tip 33. The holder 10 depends from a tube 2 through which ink is pumped to emerge on the inner surface of a rotatable cylindrical stencil 5 through successive apertures 12 and 16. The air to the hose 11 is controlled by a valve 22 so that the angle of the lower surface of the cover 23 may be changed relative to the inner surface of the stencil, thus altering the amount of ink gathering adjacent the squeegee tip 33. A sensor 9 is provided to automatically control the ink pump depending upon the ink level 8. The pressure between the tip 33 and the stencil may be adjusted, through adjustment of the vertical position of the tube 2 and/or change in the air pressure within the hose 11. The tip 33 may have a steel covering or the hose 11 may be reinforced with a steel angleplate in the region of the tip.
