Abstract

1308703 Measuring speed electrically TOKAI RIKA DENKI SEISAKUSHO KK 11 March 1970 [13 March 1969 20 Feb 1970 (3)] 11631/70 Heading G1N [Also in Divisions G4 and H1] A speed or distance travelled detecting device for operation by a rotating member has a rotor 64 with permanent magnets 65 arranged to cooperate with magnetic reed contact units 63 connected in parallel and so disposed to give six or more rectangular pulses for each rotation of the rotor 64. The rotor is driven from vehicle wheels through a flexible wire (not shown) coupled to the rotor shaft 67. The rotor is provided with a worm wheel cooperating with a further worm wheel 59 to drive, through worm wheels 58, 53 and gears 53, 49 and a second rotor 47 having a permanent magnet 48 co-operating with a magnetic reed contact unit 46. The pulses from the magnetic reed contact units 63 are fed to a D.C. ammeter (not shown) to indicate a speed. The pulses from the contact unit 46 are fed to an electromagnetic counter (not shown) to indicate distance travelled.
