Abstract
1299305 Multicoloured acrylic materials JAPAN EXLAN CO Ltd 27 April 1971 [27 April 1970] 11722/71 Heading D1B Multicoloured dyed acrylic textile materials are produced by dyeing with an anionic dye e.g. acid, mordant or direct dye an acrylic textile material which contains (1) acrylic fibres having basic groups and treated with an anionic agent which is a sulphonated aromatic polycondensate, and (2) untreated basic group containing acrylic fibres. A third fibre which is an acrylic fibre having dissociable acid groups may be added to the fibre blend and this is dyed by adding a cationic dye to the dyebath. The basic group containing fibre is preferably prepared from at least 75% by weight of acrylonitrile 0.5 to 10% by weight of at least one compound of formula I in which R 1 is H or CH 3 , each of R 2 and R 3 is CH 3 or C 2 H 5 , n is an integer 2 to 4, and 0 to 15% by weight of a neutral monoethylenically unsaturated monomer, the fibre containing dissociable acid groups being preferably at least 80% by weight of acrylonitrile, 0.01 to 5% by weight of an unsaturated monomer containing sulphonic or carboxylic acid groups and 0 to 15% of at least one neutral monoethylenically unsaturated monomer.
