Abstract

1298810 Clamps DEWSTOW (ENG) Ltd 7 July 1970 [22 Nov 1969] 57240/69 Heading E2B A clamp for use with a mould having a removable wall 3 comprises a clamping member 2 adapted to engage the wall and a toggle mechanism connected to the member for applying a clamping pressure to the wall. The toggle mechanism comprises first and second links 5, 7 pivotally connected together, the first link 5 being operable by an actuating means 14 and connected to the member 2 and having means, for limiting its pivotal movement in the clamping direction; a screwed adjusting member 13 is in contact with a pivotally mounted control link 9 pivotally connected to the link 7 and for adjusting the clamping pressure on the wall 3. As shown, the link 5 has a boss 16 for the reception of a handle 14 and a stop 12 which in the clamping position of the device rests against the link 7. The pivot 18 between the links 5 and 6 carries a clamping bracket 2 provided with a tapped hole 26 for a pin 20 to to be located in a hole in the pressure plate 24 secured to the wall 3, or for a spacing pin 25 to space the clamp away from the wall. The base frame 1 of the clamp is mountable on a bracket 27 secured to a transverse bearer 15 supporting the mould. The link 9 may be replaced by link plates 17 and a rod 19.
